Live video shopping in Harare
Shop Live is a private one-to-one video call with a shopper in Harare, where it is now piloting. You see what they see, choose each item and get the total before anything is bought; card and EcoCash checkout are being switched on.
What is live video shopping in Zimbabwe?
A shopper in Zimbabwe video-calls you from the shop. You see the shelves, tell them what to pick, and they send the total before anything is bought. It is a private one-to-one call, not a broadcast.
Do I have to be online at a set time?
You book a time that suits you at /shop-live/request and the shopper calls you then. There are no scheduled broadcasts and no reminder notifications.
Where can I shop live?
Shop Live is now piloting in Harare: supermarkets, fresh markets, pharmacies and building-materials stores. Other cities are not open yet.
How is my payment protected?
Card and EcoCash checkout are being switched on. Once they are, you pay once for the items you approved plus the fees, the shop is paid only after you approve its bill, and the driver needs your door code at handover.
Can I sell through a live stream?
Not yet. Seller broadcasts are not live. What runs today is the one-to-one shopper call.
